Autumnal Elopement Styled Shoot With a Campervan and Wild Blooms

The ideas for this shoot started whilst I was in New York in 2019 for my Auntie and Uncle’s elopement. I thought that eloping was becoming a bit of a trend and I wanted to create a shoot to give people some inspiration for planning their own elopement.

The idea of an elopement is to keep it intimate and just about the couple and their love for each other, so I wanted to keep the team of suppliers quite small, so not to overwhelm Josh and Louise, our couple, and the way I wanted the shoot to come across.

I’ve always had a love for Campervans and adore the fact that you can escape to anywhere in one. So I knew that I had to incorporate one into my shoot. The idea being that Josh and Louise had escaped to the Peak District in their VW Campervan and eloped! Daisy was the perfect van.

Timberland Boots

My first thought when planning this shoot was, “I want the bride to wear timberland boots!” and when I messaged Louise to see if her and Josh would be up for it, she told me she already had some – it was just meant to be.

With this in mind, I knew that we were going to be doing some adventuring, meaning that the dress was going to get DIRTY! So I decided to order a wedding dress from ASOS that we could just ditch – and it’s a good job because it did get filthy. But it all worked so perfectly. I also had a rusty dip-died veil from Bex Brides that we used for some of the shots.

Wild Blooms

It was important to me that the whole look fitted together just right, and all aspects complimented each other. The best way to do this was by using colour. I had followed Of the Wild on Instagram for so long and absolutely loved Kath’s work. She was totally up for the shoot and created a bouquet of flowers even more stunning than I imagined they could be. The shoot took place in November, so there was still some orange, autumnal colours around, so I requested that the flowers were orange and pale pink, totally untidy and with lots of foliage, that’s exactly what we got! They were stunning.

Josh’s rusty coloured tie, blue jacket and jeans tied in perfectly.
