Adventure Proposal Photography
Capturing “YES!” in the wild
If you are looking for a proposal photographer, then you have come to the right place! Or if you just want to use this page to drop some *really* unsubtle hints to your other half that proposal photography is a must for you, that is totally fine too!
I have been lucky enough to photograph proposals all over the UK, from an engagement in the Scottish Highlands, to getting down on one knee in the wilderness of the Lake District or an early, sunrise hike in the Peak District to avoid people watching. Whatever your idea is, I’m down for it! On the other hand, if you need ideas then I am absolutely here to help.
How does this proposal photography thing work then?
It all starts with you getting in touch and letting me know everything you think I should know at this stage – where you’re planning on proposing, the dates you have in mind and any other ideas you’ve had.
If you have a preferred time or way for me to contact you to keep things as secret as possible, just say! Whether you want to archive me on Whatsapp or tell me to only reply between 9-5pm. I’ve even been renamed as Dave in someone’s phone before!!
I am here to help with planning and wherever possible, I will recce the location before to find the perfect place for you to ask the question!
On the day, I will ask you to share your location with me and I can share mine with you, just so we can keep an eye on each other and know we are in the right place.
Will you be hiding?
Most of the time, it makes more sense to hide in plain sight. I will always bring along my boyfriend, Adam, and sometimes even our spaniel, Luna. Two dog walkers with cameras in a beautiful location isn’t suspicious at all!
What photos will you be taking?
As I’ve mentioned above, I won’t be capturing your proposal alone. My boyfriend is also a photographer so we will capture it together. Usually I get a zoomed in photo of you on one knee, and he will capture a wider shot which takes in the beautiful surroundings. Between us, we will also try and get an iPhone video clip for you. So all you will need to think about is your fiancé-to-be!
As a proposal photographer, I want to capture more than just the big YES! I always leave you to have a moment to yourselves and embrace the “just-engaged” bubble. Once you’re ready, we can get some natural photos, that you’re more aware are happening! In the end you will get a minimum of 50 photos delivered to you via an online gallery.
I will always try and send you some photos on the same day, so that you have some lovely photos to announce your engagement to friends and family!

Here is an example of the different angles we can capture – Adam’s above (wide and with the Lake District backdrop) mine below (cropped in to see her reaction clearly).

I would love to be your proposal photographer! Whether that be in the place I call home, the Peak District, or you’re dropping to one knee up a mountain in Wales or popping the question by a crystal-clear loch in Scotland, I’d love to give you a gallery full of photos to keep that memory.
Please find some more information below about how much it costs to book a proposal photographer.

A secret mission in the rainy mountains, to discreetly capture a Lake District proposal. Of course I can’t forget Goose, the Bernese Mountain dog who knew exactly when to look at the camera!
