Whistle Barns is tucked away in Derbyshire’s Amber Valley — surrounded by countryside, waterways and wildlife. It’s a new venue and a real hidden gem if you’re looking for somewhere modern but full of character.
What kind of venue is Whistle Barns?
Part of the Best Day Ever Venues group, Whistle Barns combines rustic barn style with loads of fun, contemporary touches. There’s a grand staircase leading down to the ceremony space, separate rooms for dining and evening celebrations, a Party Barn overlooking the lake, and even a vintage train carriage on site!
It’s a venue designed for celebrating properly.
What I love about being a photographer at Whistle Barns
I photographed the second ever wedding here in February 2025, which was really special. In winter it feels wonderfully cosy and atmospheric, but it’s a venue that will be incredible in summer too with the outdoor space and lake views.
There are so many unique photo spots — bridges, wildflowers, barns, water — everything in one place.
