North Wales wedding photography – wedding in Gwernymynydd
Puppies, florals, and DIY details in Bryngwyn Farm
Sinead and Sam’s wedding in Bryngwyn Farm could well be the perfect day. In fact, if all wedding photography in North Wales is like this, I might just have to move here!
To start with, there were puppies. Lots of puppies. And (just to fully max-out the cute-ometer), two adorable little flower girls. There were big family feels, DIY details, and some seriously stunning florals. And to top it all off, we had the golden hour sunset of absolute dreams!
At one point, we even had wild horses come over to join us.
If you’re getting married in North Wales and you’re after a little inspiration, come take a look. Planned by the oh-so-talented Helen, this really was the day that had it all…
Dahlias and Delilah
Our day began in just the best way possible. Slow and easy, in the beautifully-lit rooms of Sinead’s parents’ house.
There were drinks, nibbles and stories in the kitchen. The flower girls played; the baby slept. And outside, spectacular views across the sundrenched hills.
Sinead looked stunning in Delilah from Romantica. The princess gown was perfect for a relaxed wedding in North Wales- understated, timelessly beautiful. And with that gorgeous crepe bodice, ever-so-subtly boho.
And of course, we have to talk about the knockout bouquet from Beans Blooms! Dahlias and peonies in pinks, white, yellows, and blue- a vibrant splash of colour to her already-stunning look.
When her makeup was done, and the last hair brushed into place, Sinead invited her bridesmaids in to join her. And then a few minutes later, her dad.
There were hugs, tears, and more hugs! And with one last beaming smile out the window, Sinead jumped into her vintage wedding car and headed to the church.
Just across the village, my lovely second photographer, Caroline, was capturing the boys getting ready. Obviously I wasn’t there to see how it went down, but from the images, it seems it went a little like this… Some last minute ironing, finishing touches to a speech and those genius pocket-square-button-hole-alternative flowers to make life a million times easier!
Paper confetti for the win!
Past familiar houses, down familiar lanes. Nercwys Church sits five minutes away from the house where Sinead grew up.
Sunshine filled the churchyard, and echoing shuffles filled the church as everyone took their seats.
The ceremony was lovely- super fun and really personal. And as the vicar made it official, they sealed the deal with a kiss, and walked hand-in-hand down the aisle as husband and wife. (Woo!!)
And there, outside in the sunny churchyard, we had *the most* epic confetti shot!
There was laughter, cheers, applause. And Sam and Sinead’s smiles beaming through an absolute blizzard of rainbow confetti!
As ‘just-married’ moments go, it was pretty darn perfect.
Styling inspo for your farm wedding in North Wales
A little while later, S&S were jumping out of the car at Bryngwyn Farm.
Everyone was chatting and drinking on the warm grass. The sounds of the farm carried over to us across the field. And mingled with the live music from acoustic duo, Southpaw. It was official…one of the hottest days of the year was in full swing!
The reception set-up inside the marquee was super pretty and personal. And – with the exception of the flowers – completely DIY.
Each table was named after a place that was important to S&S- their favourite holiday, the place where Sam proposed; framed in horseshoes for luck. There were homemade welsh cakes for every guest, with hand-written place settings. And at the centre of each table, flower pots filled with gorgeously colourful florals.
It all felt so happy, so welcoming, and so them.
The drinks flowed, the speeches were hilarious. And after some tasty food, we all poured out of the marquee and back into the summer sun.
Cocker spaniel puppies (need I say more?!)
This next part of our story has hardly anything to do with weddings. It offers very little in the way of styling inspiration. And has absolutely nothing to do with wedding photography in North Wales.
But look how cute they are!!! *Lets out involuntary sob*
That is all.
Golden hour wedding photography in North Wales
As the sun began to set, I jumped in a 4×4 with S&S, and we went for a little drive to the top of Moel Findeg.
I’d been there with Sinead and Sam a few months before, for their pre-wedding shoot. And a few months before that, Sam brought Sinead up there to propose.
It was Sinead’s happy place when she was growing up. And now it’s somewhere that will always have a place in their hearts.
And oh my, is it beautiful at golden hour!
We were up there with Jaye from Wild Love Visuals (who’s amazing, by the way! Book her!) And we were just pure in our element! The light, the views, the wild horses, *THAT* sunset!! The North Wales wedding photography Gods were smiling down on us!
Honestly, it was such a special half-hour or so. And in the midst of all the excitement, I was so happy we were able to find Sam and Sinead a little time just for them.
To give them a little space. And to capture them, in their place.

The rest of the evening was a wonderful blur of drinking, laughing and dancing. There was an awesome live band, a packed-out dancefloor, and some seriously dodgy dance moves! It really was my kinda wedding!
